One of the best ways to find purpose and give meaning to our lives back in order to make a difference in someone’s life. It helps to divert our attention away from us and can offer a wonderful sense of accomplishment. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity as a reminder of your career, here are five really great organizations to explore:
1st ExperienceCorp.org: Experience Corps is a national award-winning program, which employs over 55 people meet the challenges of their larger communities to be. Two thousand members of the teaching and mentoring experience in 23 cities across the country, a leader in the field of literacy, homework help, models, consistent and committed, caring attention.
Independent studies have shown that the experience of the student corps increased academic performance, helps schools and youth-serving organizations more efficient and improves the well being of older people in the process. It’s a win-win-win for all!
2nd SeniorCorps.gov: Senior Corps currently links more than 500,000 Americans to service opportunities by mentors, coaches or companions to people in need, or bring their professional skills and expertise to community projects and organizations.
